With the holiday season is well underway and for some of us, winding down, most of our presents have been dispensed, most of our holiday goodies delivered. If you were late to the game or still in the thick of party season, you might still be searching for the perfect gift for your host or hostess. If you don’t have the energy to hit the post-Christmas sales, you can make an amazing gift in your own kitchen, which I did, courtesy of an superb recipe from Lisa, a good friend and great cook.
Addictive Sugar Spiced Pecans
Ingredients:
4 cups pecan halves
2 egg whites
1 cup white sugar
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 300F. Combine all pecans and egg whites in a large ziploc bag. Combine cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl.
2. Toss cinnamon sugar with pecans until thoroughly coated.
3. Bake 30 minutes on a rimmed baking sheet, stirring pecans every 10 minutes.
I wrapped these in individual cellophane bags to give as holiday gifts. They’re a tasty diversion from holiday cookies and super easy to make!
Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas to you, too! Those pecans are a fantastic little gift!
Perfect gift, and they do make a nice change from cookies!
Those pecans look great – I’ve tried various spiced pecan recipes, but have never found one that’s good enough to repeat. I’ll have to give this a try!
Pecans are my favorite and this looks like a delicious and easy recipe. These will be perfect for New Year’s Eve.
Those look delish, whoever got a taste of them was lucky indeed!

What a great present! I saw a similar recipe but wasn’t sure how it would turn out but it sounds like a resounding success! Happy 2009 Maris!
