Remember last year when a group of food bloggers from across the country organized bake sales on the same day and raised over $16,000 to help alleviate childhood hunger in the US?
Well, we’re doing it again!
On Saturday May 14th, bloggers from across the country will unite to end childhood hunger by holding bake sales in their states. Readers will have the opportunity to taste the baked goods from their favorite food blogs at each state’s bake sale location.
Funds raised through the Food Blogger Bake Sale support Share Our Strength’s efforts to end childhood hunger in America. Nearly one in four—children in America face hunger, that’s more than 17 million kids. Despite the good efforts of governments, private-sector institutions and everyday Americans, millions of our children still don’t have daily access to the nutritious meals they need to live active, healthy lives. More information on Share Our Strength can be found at http://strength.org.
Last year, I led up the Chicago sale at Smash Cake Bakery in Lincoln Park and we raised $885. Can we top that this year?
Oh yes, I think we can.

Hey! I’m in the SW suburbs – I’d love to help out this year!
I would love to be involved.
is this still going on? I’d still love to participate but I haven’t heard more about it. Gracías!
Definitely excited to help out again this year. Already auditioning recipes!
I would love to participate but I do not have a licensed kitchen to bake out of:(
@Amber, a licensed kitchen is not a requirement for GABS, since it’s a community bake sale. Let me know if you’re still interested!
