Paper Bag Flooring: Should you try it?

What is paper bag flooring?

Paper Bag Flooring has been around for a while, but If you’ve only just heard of it it’s probably because you’ve never actually noticed it before.

Paper bag flooring looks a lot like wooden floor, which is why it’s becoming increasingly desirable.

How is it done?

Paper Bag Flooring can be done easily yourself and is a great D.I.Y project for you to get stuck into. All you need is a large stash of brown paper bags, white glue, Polyurethane and Paintbrushes.

You begin by crumpling up the paper bags and coating your floor in a layer of Polyurathane. You can then use the white clue to make a mixture that will help you stick the paper bags to the floor.

Layer the paper bags until you are happy with the finished product and cover with a layer or two of Polyurethane.

How might you benefit from paper bag flooring?

Paper bag flooring is considerably cheaper than other flooring types and looks really good. You can even add stains to the paper bag flooring before the final layers of polyurethane to get it to your desired colour.

Whilst it takes a bit of time and effort, the flooring lasts and extremely long time and can be touched up really easily using some left over polyurethane.
